Ms. Jane Thompson Coordinator of the Peer Bridgers Consumer Program at University
of New Mexico Hospital was kind enough to not only invite Shela to speak but to put
this on year after year. Michael Hubert of Value Options of was the Plenary Speaker
and was well thought of and spoke well in behalf of all of us.

Ms. Betina Gonzales McCracken Communications Director for HSD State of New Mexico in coordination with Ms. Patricia Gallegos MSW DOH , who works as CAT Rep for LC4 and is a MSG lead came with a contracted film crew and filmed Consumers with their permission on October 9th. Mr. Marino Rivera who runs the Total Community Approach Program Grant with his assistant Ms. Kristie Tapia had a very good rapport with all the guests.
Shela visits the DINE
On Sept 15th in Towaoc, Colorado a specialized training was held at the Ute Mountain Hotel Casino. This was led by Dine Tribal members Raymond Keeswood, Harrison Yellowman, Norman Joe and others who are Certified Peer Specialists. Ms. Shela Silverman LMSW CPS was honored to be invited and is still in awe of her experience. Wilma Townsend MSW of Townsend Consulting joined in along with Mary Sue Blackhurst MA LPCC of Guadalupe Counseling and Therapy . Both fine woman are MHA of New Mexico Board Members. The MHA would like to thank Dr.Carol Luna Anderson of The Life Link of Santa Fe, Kate Gaston of Mental Health America and Harrison Kinney BHSD HSD for making this happen but most of all the DINE members for making history.
